Converting Alternatives International (CAI) was entrusted with the complete installation and systems integration of a Zerand 900 Series die cutter, along with a comprehensive suite of automated press components. Our team executed a turnkey upgrade that included the installation of a Martin Automation MTB unwind, splicer, and festoon system, as well as our own CAI servo-driven infeed unit. Additional downstream systems installed included the Zerand Post-Press Decurl, Zerand Askew, and Zerand Delivery Table.
Beyond mechanical installation, CAI assumed full control architecture responsibility for the press. We reprogrammed the PLC with our proprietary logic, integrated new HMIs, and implemented new motors across the system to enhance performance, reliability, and operator usability. Our advanced registration control system was also fully integrated, enabling precise web alignment and improved production consistency.
This project demonstrates CAI’s end-to-end capabilities—combining mechanical installation, automation engineering, and custom control integration to deliver a fully modernized, high-performance press tailored to the customer’s operational needs.
